Carnations are making a comeback, one petal at a time!

Not the flower of choice for most brides and I can understand why this may be. People feel they are dated or a little naff. Not long ago people felt the same way about hydrangeas, some even dislike roses! So needless to say one size doesn’t fit all; one flower doesn’t inspire all but this is what makes my job so enjoyable and makes every wedding so unique.

It’s no wonder carnations are making a comeback. Carnations are subtly scented, are just as frilly as a tutu, and found in every shade imaginable! These are easily the world’s most underrated flower and are also one of the most versatile, thanks to their durability and availability. Use carnations in your wedding centrepieces, button holes, and even your bouquet. Even better, they will last longer than most other blooms and they dry out well, for a post-wedding memory.

For the more budget conscious bride using carnations can be a great substitute. Grouping 3 to 5 carnations together can give the same effect as the much sought after peony.
